THE MISSIONARY SISTERS OF ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST

LOVE

FAITH

SERVICE

We are a community of nuns who are called to dedicate our lives to the least, particularly those who are sick, suffering, and marginalized. Our mission is
to abide in Christ’s love witnessed by St. John and to live in that love. Our community life is based on:

biible

Mutual love

We are bonded in love as Christ loves us and God loves Christ. If we live in this flow of love from Christ, respect each other, and remain in Christ, we will be invited even more deeply into communion with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Union

We are made one in the vine of Christ and bear fruit in the Life of God. Jesus taught his disciples that love and union cannot be separated. That is the will left to us by St. John, who witnessed Jesus’ words and deeds at the Last Supper. Love and union in the community is the sign of the kingdom of God revealed by Jesus Christ and our choice of eschatological life.

Humility

We will follow the life of humility Jesus walked as symbolized in his washing of the feet of the disciples and his parable of a grain of wheat, which struck St. John and changed his life.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1
